COVID-19 UPDATES



Prince Resorts Hawaii is closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation on a daily basis by following the most up to date guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization, Hawaii Department of Health and local authorities. Our Emergency Management Team is actively and strategically putting policies and procedures in place as the situation evolves.

Temporary Hotel Closures
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel - The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort - Prince Waikiki
In consideration of recent proclamations and directives issued by the Hawaii State Government and other local authorities, including the Stay at Home-Work from Home issued for all Hawaii residents and the 14 days - Mandatory Quarantine for all arriving visitors to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the State of Hawaii, as well as protecting safety and well-being for all guests, employees and communities, we are have chosen to temporarily close 3 hotels - Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort, Prince Waikiki until further notice. Mauna Kea Golf Course has limited club play and Hapuna Golf Course and Hawaii Prince Golf Club have resumed operations. Prince Golf Course Updates
In conjunction with the April 29th announcement by the City and County of Honolulu, as supported by State of Hawaii and the changes to the Stay at Home Order, allowing certain designated businesses to re-open, we are very pleased to announce the re-opening of the Hawaii Prince Golf Club on Monday, May 4th and the Hapuna Golf Course on May 11th.

For the safety of our golfers and staff, all guidelines and precautionary measures set forth by PGA Aloha Section and health authorities will continue to be taken in consideration to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

While the recent COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world and how business is conducted, we remain positive and look forward to welcoming all of our guests with a commitment to ensure their health, safety and comfort.

We have further enhanced our cleaning guidelines which were carefully put together and implemented following the recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association (HLTA). These procedures and guidelines may change and evolve over time to reflect new government guidance and expectations. Please visit each our our hotels' websites for the latest updates.

Enhanced Sanitization
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been placed in various areas throughout the hotels.
  • Electrostatic sprays will be used to disinfect public areas throughout the day.
  • Touchless fixtures have been installed in public area restrooms to minimize physical contact.
  • Sanitation and disinfectant materials meeting the highest industry standards will be used throughout the hotels.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Employees will be required to wear approved PPE based on the job responsibilities and in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Guest will be required to wear a mask in public areas throughout their stay.
Physical Distancing
  • Physical distancing policies will be in place encouraging both guests and employees to stand 6 feet apart throughout the hotels.
  • Visible indicators have been placed throughout the hotels to assist in maintaining proper spacing and flow.
  • Capacities in public areas and restaurants have been re-defined and configured to allow for appropriate spacing.
  • Physical barriers will be placed where appropriate as additional protection between guests and employees.
Signage
  • Informational signage has been placed throughout the hotel communicating physical distancing protocols, best health and safety standards and instructions for guests who are not feeling well.
